This is a portable counterpart of f.lux, a simple-to-use software application that can automatically adjust the monitor's brightness to the day/night setting. It does not include complex features or customization options, making it ideal for all types of users.
Portability benefits
As there is no installation involved, you can extract the program files to any part of the hard disk and just click the executable to run.
Another option it to save F.lux Portable to a USB flash disk or similar storage unit, in order to run it on any PC with minimum effort and no previous installers.
An important factor to keep in mind is that the Windows registry and Start menu do not get updated with new entries, and there are no files left behind after the tool's removal.
Accessibility via the system tray
At startup, F.lux Portable creates an icon in the system tray area and immediately becomes active. Users may preview the evolution of the monitor color adjustment over the course of 24 hours (from sunrise to sunset).
